About this space
The space
Entrance:
Located on the historic Quay Walls and beside the River Tweed, Cinnabar is accessed through a courtyard at the back of the house. The courtyard is an oasis of green, overgrown, organised chaos with a table and chairs for two people to enjoy a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening. Up just a few outside steps through the main door you’ll be greeted by a beautiful open-plan apartment.
Internal:
Kitchen
To the left is the modern Kitchen, fully equipped with a Nespresso Coffee Machine, dishwasher, oven and microwave. You’ll have all the amenities to make a full English breakfast or cook an evening meal. Or if you’d rather eat out you are just a few minutes walk from the popular Bridge Street which has several independent restaurants fit for all occasions. The kitchen has double glass doors through to the living room allowing you to have the option of one large open space or two separate cosy rooms.
Lounge with Dining Area
Through the double glass doors there is a dining table for two overlooking the very green and luscious courtyard space, which is enclosed by a gate, making the central home feel peaceful and secluded.
The Lounge is very cosy with a comfortable L-shaped sofa, a smart TV with Netflix, a DVD player and a gorgeous feature fireplace for show. Unfortunately, the fireplace is not functioning, but it is a beautiful lounge feature and is great to look at. There is also a built-in desk, so if you need to bring your laptop away, there’s a designated workspace. Cinnabar has a large bookshelf with tons of books to read while you are away.
Please note that Netflix is an app on the smart TV and doesn’t have a specific house account. Guests are welcome to use their own Netflix account and any other streaming services available with their login, but please make sure that you log out at the end of your stay.
Bathroom
As you head through the hallway, there’s a stunning, spacious stone-tiled bathroom comprising a toilet, wash hand basin and an amazing walk-in shower featuring a large rainfall head.
Bedroom
The Bedroom is also off the main hallway and up a few stairs. Inside the bedroom, you’ll find a very comfortable king-sized bed featuring all luxury linens. The bedroom also overlooks the courtyard. This cosy retreat guarantees the perfect night’s sleep.
Utility Room
Cinnabar also has a utility room with a washing machine and some storage space, perfect if you are staying for a long period of time and need your clothes washed.
Parking:
A parking permit in the house allows one car to park for free on the street outside. There are many free car parks nearby if you have more than one car.
Other information:
The gated courtyard is shared with the property next door, River View. If you’re staying with a larger group, you could rent the two houses together, as there’s even a door in Cinnabar’s kitchen which can be unlocked to connect the two spaces. Just contact us before your arrival if you’re wanting this feature unlocked.
Special Requests:
We have a travel cot and highchair on site, please contact us before your trip to arrange the setup.
If you have any additional requests or want to discuss pricing, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will try our best to accommodate.
Pet Rules:
Please note that we do not accept dogs at Cinnabar due to the owner’s allergies, unfortunately this is non-negotiable. Please contact us directly to inquire about other pet friendly houses we manage in the area.
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole property, with access to the courtyard shared with one other rental property.
